Banned Books Reading Circle

Read and learn about the books being banned in schools and libraries across the country.

 

We've all heard about the effort to ban books in schools and libraries whether written for children, young adults (YA), or adults. How many have you read?  

 

You are invited to be part of our League's Banned Books Reading Circle. Six times this year, we'll offer a chance to read and discuss some of the books currently being challenged in schools and libraries.  Books will be organized by themes and several options will be offered per theme.  Read the book(s) you want and share your thoughts about the books and their connection to the theme.  

 

Don't have time to read the books?  Come anyway to listen, learn, and ask questions.

How to get started:

 

1. Study the Reading List, Themes, and Dates and decide which themes and books interest you.

2. Go to the Circle's Sign Up Genius page.

3. Sign up for the dates you can attend and the books you want to read so we can track the number of attendees for each meeting.
